WIDOW are no strangers to metal, in fact they revel in it. After the release of their highly impressive “No Stone Unturned“ demo, we knew they were Tribunal material. A blending of old and new, WIDOW are flawless in their execution of classic melodic metal. Midnight Strikes sounds like it could have been released back in 1982, its recording is raw and gritty, just as metal of this nature should be. Midnight Strikes likens itself to a classic from that time in Iron Maiden’s “The Number Of The Beast.” We aren’t claiming that WIDOW are better than Iron Maiden, as that would be blasphemy, but WIDOW did learn their lessons well. We want you to imagine the classic styles of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Mercyful Fate mixed with the newer vibe of Children Of Bodom and you have the sounds of WIDOW. Duelling leads, powerful vocals and a thunderous rhythm section are all the driving forces behind Midnight Strikes. We are sure that if you a fan of metal then WIDOW will be a necessity for your collection. If you still don’t understand how truly “metal” WIDOW are then please reference the above cover art. Need we say more? We didn’t think so. You know you want to grab your jean jacket, air guitar and throw your horns towards the sky, so just do it. METAL IS GOOD.
