"Idle" is a dark, somber and ultimately melancholy look into the eyes of metal. "If you're silent you can hear my dying. You probably think it sounds like breathing-You think I'm still living." DAYLIGHT DIES have successfully exorcised works of genuine sorrow. Despite their overtures being both dismal and depressing, "Idle" is laced throughout with brisk melodious guitar interplay. But as their name suggests, DAYLIGHT DIES' requiem, "Idle," was constructed with an expectation of inescapable sadness. "I must find a way to never feel again. I made the mistake of wanting something real, and I saw it die." They have exhumed a soundtrack for a soul's eternal torment. Any listener fortunate enough to gaze into the world of DAYLIGHT DIES can't help become engulfed, yet sympathetic to their heavy-hearted existence. "Unending waves of memories, life's only gift bestowed to me...Regret." DAYLIGHT DIES sound is most reminiscent to that of Katatonia, Paradise Lost and Opeth. Embrace the sorrow.
