ATREYU are from Orange County, CA and have taken the west coast hardcore scene by storm, and they will soon overtake the rest of the world as well! ATREYU’s sound is a more aggressive style than which is normally heard in the melodic hardcore realms (note: the few spurts of “gang” vocals). They combine heavy breakdowns(with a little Deftones finesse), a siege of 80’s thrash metal and emotionally charged passages into a perfect amalgamation of sound. Admittedly, it sounds as if it is an odd mixture of sound but ATREYU allow it to flow seamlessly from one section to the next. Their demo sold in excess of 600 copies in southern California alone, with the release of “Fractures In The Facade Of Your Porcelain Beauty,” ATREYU are set to capture the attention of the entire world. Tracks such as “Living Each Day Like You’re Already Dead,” “Taking Back Every Word That I Said” and “Tulips Are Better” are fine tuned examples of their energetic and emotional delivery of hardcore music.
