AGE OF RUIN's debut release, Black Sands Of The Hourglass , was a no holds barred metal assault. Whether it was the driving rock crunch of "Cracks In The Mirror" and "Withered Rose" to the beautifully constructed instrumental, "Angel Dusted Dreamlock," or the urgency and utter doom of "Echoes In Stained Glass" AGE OF RUIN were nonetheless smashing all pre-conceived barriers between metal and hardcore. Their sound can be compared to the hardcore/metal crossover act, Darkest Hour, and with that comes an In Flames/At The Gates likeness, naturally. With Black Sands Of The Hourglass initial release through Tribunal Records being merely a distribution deal we have now re-mastered the original recordings, given the layout a complete overhaul and added TWO bonus tracks. One of the bonus tracks being their cover of BON JOVI's "You Give Love A Bad Name." We thought this would be a great way to tide their fans over until AGE OF RUIN were able to complete work on their upcoming debut with new label, EULOGY RECORDINGS. And don't forget to keep reciting those three special words: METAL IS GOOD. |
